I found this today whilst having a peruse of today’s news.
Apparently filming has started on a new comedy from BBC Two. The Bleak Old Shop Of Stuff stars Stephen Fry, Robert Webb and David Mitchell along with Celia Imrie, Pauline McLynn and Katherine Parkinson.
Messrs Mitchell and Webb are a comedy team responsible for Peep Show and Fry is great in this sort of thing because of course he is a really a Victorian who time traveled to the 21st century!
Anyway BBC Two has announced that production is underway and the new four-part comedy adventure set in the Dickensian world of Jedrington Secret-Past, the up-standing family man and owner of The Old Shop of Stuff, Victorian London’s most successful purveyor of miscellaneous odd things.
The Bleak Old Shop Of Stuff is a BBC In-House production comprising a one-hour Christmas Special followed by three 30-minute episodes to air early next year.
It’s got a great cast and for my money looks like it may be quite good fun.
